thumbnails: spider scorpion edition!

yesterday at class I did some enviro concepts. some of those concepts turned out oikay, but the last one I had absolutely no imagination for. Gonna do more thumbnails, it was really fun.

spaceship and trees

Just finished a blueprint of the spaceship ready to be turned into a model and also sketches from tuesdays class: buncha gauss drivers and trees.

dream thumbnail

Did a quick thumbnail of a scenery I saw in my dream. Thumbnails are basically little pictures that are painted very vaguely, loosely and fast to capture the general mood and composition and values and such. Usually many thumbs are made and only a few chosen to be made into a proper painting.

Knowing me it's not the final version.
Tried doing speedpaint of an slum environment, but didn't come out that speedy. Gotta think this through.

Used sketch - block - overpaint but ti's too slow, next time gonna go straight to blocking.

More anatomy

Bought a better anatomy book and now been trying to use this to study. So far my methods have been:
Draw the muscles from area
draw from photo ref
add muscles to it
try and make sense where what muscles are located and how they interact.
It's surprisingly difficult.

Week before

Trying to learn some anatomy. Basically going to do stuff like this for the whole week, so maybe I can learn where everything is and what they do. Absolutely nothing to do here so I'm prolly going to Starbucks and start writing my own book. Gotta buy a mactop first or something.
